A profiler finds an old walkie-talkie that reaches a detective working in 1989. Across the thirty-year gap the two of them reopen cold cases nobody closed, and discover that every past they manage to change rewrites the present one of them is standing in, not always for the better. The cases are drawn from real Korean investigations, the Hwaseong serial murders among them.
