Accessibility Statement

How we work to make the Media Influence Map usable for everyone, and how to tell us when we fall short.

Last Updated: July 2026 • We aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA and treat every accessibility report as a priority.

1

Our Commitment

The Media Influence Map is meant to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, high-contrast themes, or zoom. Accessibility is treated as part of building the product, not an afterthought, and we keep working on it as the map grows.

2

Standard We Aim For

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That covers things like readable colour contrast, text that scales, meaningful labels on controls, and content that can be operated without a mouse. The interactive graph is inherently visual, so for that area our goal is to keep the surrounding tools, lists and pages fully accessible while we improve the graph itself.

3

What We Have Done

Every page can be reached and operated with the keyboard, and interactive controls carry text labels for assistive technology. Colours are chosen for contrast in both the light and dark themes, and the dark theme can be turned on from the footer on any page. Text uses relative sizing so browser zoom and larger default font sizes work without breaking the layout. Images that carry meaning have alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers. Forms show clear, in-context error and success messages rather than relying on colour alone.

4

Known Limitations

The influence graph is a dense visual canvas, and exploring it node by node with a screen reader is still limited. We are building text-based ways to reach the same information (search, the Discover page, entity and connection pages, and lists in the review log) so the underlying data is available without the canvas. Some third-party embedded content and external links may not fully match our own standards. If you hit a barrier we have not listed here, please tell us.

5

Give Us Feedback

If any part of the site is hard to use with your assistive technology or setup, we want to know. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you use, and we will do our best to fix it or offer another way to get the same result. You can reach us through the support page or by email at hello@mediainfluencemap.com.

6

Ongoing Work

This statement reflects the current state of the site and will be updated as we improve. Accessibility is never finished, and every report helps us prioritise the next fixes. Thank you for helping make the map usable for everyone.

Found an accessibility barrier?

Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the tools you use. We will fix it or find you another way to the same result.

An accurate record of creative history should be open to every reader.
