English : A monstrous creature called a demon god appears in the village of the young boy Ashitaka. When Ashitaka kills it to save his village, a curse falls on his right arm. Facing a doomed fate, Ashitaka sets off toward the western lands to find why the god appeared and how to lift the curse. Japanese (original) : 少年・アシタカの住む村に、タタリ神と呼ばれる異形の生き物が現れる。村が襲撃されないようアシタカがそのタタリ神を殺すと、その右腕に呪いを受けてしまった。 いずれ死にゆく運命となったアシタカは、なぜタタリ神が現れたのか理由を探り、そして、その呪いを解く手がかりを見つけるべく、タタリ神のやってきた西の地を目指す。
